Historically, one of the drawbacks of renewable energy has been its production variability, however battery storage technology can help overcome such peaks and troughs. Co-locating battery storage sites, with existing power generation assets, can be a great alternative source of income for landowners and farmers.
One of our experienced and knowledgeable Agents, at Dales Surveying Ltd, will be able to assist every step of the way, in order to ensure that the process is as seamless as possible. Once the battery storage facility is installed, an annual income will be paid to the landowner, linked with inflation. There are a range of different funding options available, from self-funded to fully-funded.
Energy Storage Rental Process
Site Visit - Unlike most developers, we like to visit the landowner at the very beginning of the process. This gives you, the landowner, the opportunity to understand how exactly the process works and raise any queries.
Letter of Authority - We require your authority to contact the energy supplier, on your behalf. in order to understand whether a grid connection is feasible.
Feasibility Study - We undertake a comprehensive study to ensure that the site is practical and viable.
Grid Application - We apply to the relevant Distribution Network Operator (DNO) for a connection to the grid.
Planning - A planning application will be submitted for the proposed battery storage system. Our experienced planners keep fully abreast of the relevant UK Planning laws and through numerous submissions of planning applications we have built sound working relationships with the local planning authorities throughout the UK, thus leading to numerous planning approvals.
Installation and land rental payment - Once the equipment is installed, you'll receive an annual payment linked with inflation.
