Planning Case Study
Location: Lake District
Local Planning Authority: Lake District National Park
Proposal: New Telecoms mast site
One of the most challenging aspects of the ESN (Emergency Services Network) roll out has been the requirement for sites to be located in famously scenic and undisturbed areas of the UK. With this has come, in some cases, opposition from local residents and stakeholders. Our existing positive relationships with key members of local planning authorities throughout the country has proved instrumental in our clients’ achieving their targets in a timely manner.
This particular site caused much controversy from the outset due to its picturesque location, but with the careful attentions of our planning specialists, and them ensuring to be present for all community, and council led, discussions on this matter, we were able to hand our client the approval notice for this site without incurring undue delay or conditions of build. Further to this, in what was often a tense situation, we ensured that the working connections we enjoy with the Lake District National Park Planning Authority remained positive, thus unlocking further support for future planning applications in the Lakes.
Having knowledgeable professionals, well versed in presenting the reasoning and necessity for this equipment roll-out, was paramount in gaining such an area’s support and goodwill. This belief and care in our work is something that we carry through to any project, be it country-wide, or an individual need.
